Blue & White – Always a Classic
Blue and white decor has always been a classic, and it’s now more popular than ever. This color scheme runs the gamut from traditional to modern, depending on how you choose the accessories, fabric, and furniture. You can do a whole room or whole home in blue and white without it being overwhelming or “too much.” You can do a soft, pale blue or a deep, rich navy blue – or all different shades of blue! This color combination is always chic!
I’ve always loved using blue and white in my interiors. Below, I outline a few different ways I’ve used it in the past.
A Blue and White Toile Guest Bedroom
This guest bedroom is classic but still fresh. A gorgeous blue and white toile covers the bed and the walls, enveloping the room in soothing tones. I used a collection of different deep cobalt accessories on the dresser to layer in a deeper blue tone. I warmed the tones of this room up with a brass headboard. Even though this chic guest bedroom is covered in the same pattern, it never becomes overwhelming or headache-inducing.

If you have a more contemporary white kitchen or living space, you can still mix in some blue to attain the blue and white look. In my online shop, I have some vintage cobalt glass pieces that are an excellent way to add a bit of blue to your space.

Other Ways to Incorporate Blue & White:
- Chinese pottery is another great way to add blue and white to your home – it is easily available and can be quite affordable.
- There are many blue and white fabrics available now through your interior designer, from gorgeous florals to more contemporary geometric patterns. Even a roman shade or throw pillow in these hues will add a touch of classic blue and white beauty to your home.
- For a temporary fix, try a simple white vase filled with rich blue hydrangeas!
