We’re very excited to show off this beautiful new kitchen project we recently completed!
The homeowners wanted a great space to entertain family and friends at their beautiful Long Island home overlooking the water.
e designed this gorgeous kitchen with one of our favorite vendors, Artista Kitchens, located in Huntington, New York. We have worked extensively with Artista on many kitchens – their cabinetry quality and customer service is truly top notch.
Here are some of our favorite design elements from this kitchen:
- We selected a creamy tone for the cabinetry of the perimeter and a darker wood tone for the island.Many kitchen cabinets you see on the market nowadays are a bright, stark white. This would not have worked well in this kitchen – it would have been too jarring a difference between the island and perimeter cabinets. As design professionals who understand the subtle differences between color tone and temperature, we selected a warmer and creamier white for the perimeter to better complement the island.
- We kept the granite countertops uniform throughout the kitchen. The different colored perimeter and island cabinetry allows for variation and depth in the kitchen design, while the uniform countertop ties it together.
- We kept the backsplash tile relatively simple, but added a decorative band around the perimeter and detail behind the range. This adds a pretty decorative element without going over-the-top.
- We kept the cabinetry hardware and light fixtures above the island relatively simple. The pendant lights are just enough to add extra lighting and interest without overpowering the rest of the kitchen.
- To add a little bit of color to the room, we chose these kitchen stools with a soft blue fabric. The blue reflects the waterfront view right outside the windows of these homeowners and complements the window treatments.
- We kept the appliances hidden inside the cabinets – no one wants to stare at their toaster every day! Instead, we accessorized with decorative accessories from our online shop.
