Marilyn Rose Interiors is proud to support our nation’s veterans. Two wonderful organizations we support are the United Veterans Beacon House and General Needs. These are local organizations that provide services to homeless veterans and veterans in need around Long Island. Our veterans sacrificed for our country’s freedom, and it makes me heartbroken that so many of them are homeless or in need. Through Marilyn Rose Interiors, I try to do as much as possible to help them out through General Needs and the United Veterans Beacon House.
Over the holiday season, General Needs participated in a wonderful effort to help out homeless vets. Schoolchildren raised money to buy yarn, and local knitting groups knit blankets for the vets. I joined many other volunteers to help General Needs wrap these handmade blankets along with coats, hats, and gloves for the veterans. See the video of us all wrapping these gifts here: https://www.facebook.com
I also worked with General Needs to organize a holiday dinner at historic Oheka Castle. Gary Melius, owner of Oheka Castle very graciously offered to host veterans in need for no cost at this dinner. We had an incredible five-course meal in Oheka Castle’s ballroom, and the veterans who came were so grateful to have not only a warm meal but a delicious meal right around the holiday season.
If you want to support the veterans here on Long Island, I highly recommend supporting General Needs and United Veterans Beacon House!
